Local Action Group Bilogora-Papuk was founded on the LEADER approach, which can be translated as a link between the actions for development of rural area LAG covers issues of rural development with a focus on rural development, although it can be integrated in social and businesses development and issues.
LEADER programs encourage rural areas to discover new ways to become or remain competitive, to make the best use of their advantages and to overcome all the obstacles they face, such as an aging population, lack of service provision, or lack of jobs.
LEADER approach, relies on the cooperation of local stakeholders and their initiatives. Leader approach mean that ideas come from the bottom and is carried out through the local partnerships in the form of local action groups.
The involvement of local stakeholders is an element of development that runs through all the priorities of development LAG Bilogora-Papuk area.
THESE FOUR BASIC ELEMENTS ARE KEY FACTORS FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
It is extremely important the role of the community not only in defining projects and programs of development but also in their implementation and enforcement.
In defining the local development strategies of LAG we are guided by one of the basic principles of Leader; Development on area based approach.
An area-based approach takes a small, socially cohesive territory, often characterised by common traditions, a local identity, a sense of belonging or common needs and expectations, as the target area for policy implementation.
